Social Skills Reminder Cards and a Linky!

Hello Friends!

I saw one of my super cute new students this week while I was working in my classroom. He stopped by with his mom to drop off his paperwork and asked the office staff if he could see me. This reminded me how much I need to work on social skills this year! Ironically, it's how socially perfect he was being that reminded me! I noticed how well he was using his awesome skills, that I know don't come naturally to him! With this in mind, and the "Power Cards" idea I got from Pinterest today, I created Social Skills Reminder Cards to apply to a bunch of school situations. They are available in both my TPT and Teacher's Notebook stores now. They include 30 different social situations! If you want a specific skill you don't see included, just let me know and I can make it for you. Every skill includes a picture reminder so you can flip through the cards quickly. I plan to cut them out, laminate them, and put them on rings for the kids who need them. I am waiting on new laminating sheets from Amazon, and the rings are at school, so I'll post pics of a put-together rings next week.

I'm joining the "You know it's back to school when..." linky on Kindergarten Lifestyle because I instantly had about a dozen responses when I saw it! I successfully narrowed it down to 3:

I don't know about you, but I could go all summer without coffee. I might enjoy a cup, but I don't NEED it. The second school starts, I can't seem to survive a morning without at least a little. Those little guys have far more energy than I do. Starbucks also appreciates my love of Cinnamon Dolce Lattes and Caramel Macchiatos. I'm seriously one star away from a gold card. I should be ashamed... but I'm not.
I honestly can't count how many times I've been in the Target back to school isles, wandered through Office Max, and bought printer ink at Staples (so grateful they carry Dell so I don't have to wait for it in the mail!) I refuse to count up how much I've spent, I'd just be mad at myself.

Both my printer and laminator have been working extra hours this week! Then my poor hands get sore from all the cutting as I watch bad TV. On the upside, I bought new scissors with squishy handles at Target today! My extra good pair got stolen out of my classroom this summer during summer school. I hope it returns when school starts! I think the kids will really like the centers games I'm cutting out, so it's worth it! Plus they will be good for years thanks to the lamination, so I don't have to do it again next year.
